Cornet Chop Suey kept things lively for a crowd of more than 150 people Sept. 22 at the Apple Shed along Highway 79. The popular professional group is based in St. Louis and includes Clarksville resident Jerry Epperson.
Tunes during the two-hour set “Honeysuckle Rose,” “Dark Eyes,” “St. Louis Blues,” “Louisiana Fairy Tale,” “Johnny B. Goode” and “What a Wonderful World.”
Before Cornet Chop Suey, three young local musicians performed. The event was sponsored by the Raintree Arts Council, which provides programs in Pike and Lincoln counties through funding from the Missouri Arts Council and other resources.
