HANNIBAL – Work continues on bridge replacements at Fox Creek and Ramsey Creek on MO 79 in Lincoln County, yet high water from the Mississippi River is presenting some challenges on Ramsey Creek. “High water levels have caused some delays in the project at the Ramsey Creek location, while the Fox Creek bridge reconstruction is progressing as planned,” said Missouri Department of Transportation Area Engineer, Brian Haeffner, P.E. “It is too early to determine the impact, if any, to the highway opening as scheduled”, he added.
The cost of both bridge replacements is more than $1.7 million, and the road is expected to reopen in mid-July, weather permitting. Ramsey Creek is located about 2.5 miles north of Annada, Fox Creek is located 2 miles south of Clarksville. The detour is located over Route H and Route W.
